  • lesson:
    • Brown hopes we don't psychologically isolate ourselves like Langan
    • Honors program puts you in community with large variety of people
  • are highly educated people the most respected?
    • college education serves same function as high school education used to
    • almost need college education to get a respected job
    • Langan seems suspicious of those with trained education
      • he may not thrive in academic environment
      • hasn't had to overcome intellectual resistance
